National Database Administration

Facility Registry System (FRS)

The Facility Registry System is an EPA managed database that identifies facilities, sites, or places subject to environmental regulations or of environmental interest. The Query Form allows you to retrieve selected facility data from 11 national systems. You may specify a facility by using any combination of facility name, geographic location, facility industrial classification, affiliated organization and contact, and national systems.

Biennial Reporting System (BRS)

The Biennial Reporting System is a national system that collects data on the generation, management, and minimization of hazardous activities. This system captures detailed information and data on the generation of hazardous waste from large quantity generators and waste management practices from treatment, storage , and disposal facilities (TSDs). Data for the previous year’s hazardous waste activities is reported on even years by facilities to the State and EPA.
Also, the State does require all transporters, small quantity generators, large quantity generators and TSD facilities to submit an annual report to the State on an annual basis. Facilities can submit these reports to the State electronically.
A link to the web site for electronic filing of your Annual/Biennial Hazardous Waste Report is provided below.

Envirofacts

Envirofacts provides users with a single point of access to select U.S. EPA environmental data. This website provides access to several EPA databases to provide you with information about environmental activities that may affect air, water, and land anywhere in the United States. With Envirofacts, you can learn more about these environmental activities in your area or you can generate maps of environmental information.

Resource Conservation & Recovery Act Information (RCRA Info)

Hazardous waste information is contained in the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Information (RCRAInfo), a national program management and inventory system about hazardous waste handlers. In general, all generators, transporters, treaters, store’s and disposers of hazardous waste are required to provide information about their activities. For more information contact the MDEQ RCRA Info Administrator.

AIRS Facility Subsystem (AFS)

Information on air releases is contained in the AIRS facility subsystem (AFS), a computer-based repository for information about permitted air facilities. This information comes from source reports by various stationary sources of air pollution, such as electric power plants, steel mills, factories, and universities, and provides information about the air pollutants they produce. For more information contact the MDEQ AFS Administrator.

Integrated Compliance Information System/National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System ICIS/NPDES Systems

The ICIS/NPDES Systems provides information on facilities which have been issued permits to discharge waste water into the State’s rivers and streams. You can review information on when a permit was issued and expires, the facilities’ discharge limits, and the actual monitoring data showing what the company actually discharged. For more information contact the MDEQ ICIS/NPDES SystemsAdministrator.
