MDEQ Announces Beach Outfalls Challenge 


The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) announced at the Mississippi Restoration Summit in Biloxi yesterday that registration for the Beach Outfalls Challenge will begin January 9. 

MDEQ Lifts One Water Contact Advisory


The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted a water contact advisory Wednesday for sampling Station 9 (Gulfport Harbor Beach). An advisory remains in effect for Station 12B (Biloxi East Central Beach). 

Gov. Phil Bryant Announces Restoration Projects


Gov. Phil Bryant announced 15 restoration projects today in Biloxi. They total more than $114 million and primarily focus on water quality, marine resources and land acquisition for conservation. The majority of the funds ($60 million) target improving water quality. 

The projects will be administered by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality and were announced as part of MDEQ’s Mississippi Restoration Summit.

MDEQ Lifts Two Water Contact Advisories


The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted water contact advisories Wednesday for sampling station 5 (Pass Christian West Beach) and sampling station 10 (Gulfport Central Beach). There are currently no advisories in effect across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

MDEQ To Host Restoration Summit on November 15


 The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) will host the first Mississippi Restoration Summit on Tuesday, November 15, at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center in Biloxi from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

MDEQ Lifts One Water Contact Advisory and Issues One


 The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted a water contact advisory Friday for sampling station 15 (Shearwater Beach). The agency also issued an advisory for station 5 (Pass Christian West Beach), and an advisory issued October 27 for station 10 (Gulfport Central Beach) remains in effect.

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, issued a water contact advisory Thursday for sampling station 10 (Gulfport Central Beach). An advisory issued October 25 for station 15 (Shearwater Beach) remains in effect.
