Operations Training Manual and Study Guide

The MDEQ Wastewater Treatment Facilities Operations and Training Manual can be found here. The manual remains an excellent resource for operators, but is no longer the primary reference for operator certification exams. For current exam references, consult the Need-To-Know-Criteria for the exam level you plan to take.

Wastewater Pollution Control Regulations

Contains links to the State regulations regarding wastewater NPDES permits and wastewater operator certification (chapters 1 and 3, respectively). These are the official word on almost all questions you might have about permitting and certification.

Forms

Bypass Report Form

The reporting form for Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) or Wastewater Bypass. In the event of any sewer overflow, regardless of size, operators should verbally notify MDEQ within 24 hours, and submit a completed bypass report within 5 days. Reports should be made to your regional Operator Trainer or directly to James Gammill.

Duly Authorized Representative Delegation Form

Authorized Signatories of NPDES permits can submit this form in order to delegate submittal authority to a Duly Authorized Representative.
