Industrial Stormwater

Renewal Information

At this time, MDEQ is working to reissue the Industrial Stormwater General Permit.  Once the Industrial Stormwater General Permit (ISGP) expiring November 30, 2025 is reissued, MDEQ will provide a Letter of Instruction to active coverage holders outlining the process for obtaining recoverage under the newly reissued ISGP. Please DO NOT submit renewal forms or requests until instructed to do so. Renewal requests submitted prior to the reissuance of the ISGP will not be processed. If the ISGP is not reissued prior to the expiration date, it will be administratively continued until reissued.

You can submit electronic applications for general permit coverages here.

The Permit Board on Environmental Quality has reissued the general permit that authorizes the discharge of storm water associated with industrial activity. The Industrial Stormwater General Permit for Industrial Activities (MSR00) was reissued on December 10, 2020. This general permit was previously titled the Baseline Stormwater General Permit. This permit replaces the previous general permit that expired on October 31, 2020, and was administratively extended by MDEQ. Recoverage instructions are being mailed to coverage holders at this time. The recoverage instructions and the required recoverage form can be found here as well. The recoverage form must be received by MDEQ no later than March 29, 2021.
