Gov. Bryant and Other Officials To Dedicate Nunnelee Office Building
(JACKSON, Miss.) – Gov. Phil Bryant, Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves, Speaker Philip Gunn, other officials, and the family of former Congressman Alan Nunnelee will participate in a building dedication and plaque unveiling at the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality’s (MDEQ) building in downtown Jackson today.
MDEQ Promotes a Green Holiday Season
(JACKSON, Miss.) – The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) encourages Mississippians to remember the environment this holiday season through waste reduction, reuse, and recycling practices to "green up" the holiday season. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the amount of household trash increases by 25 percent between Thanksgiving and the New Year. MDEQ recommends considering the following "green" practices during the holiday season:

MDEQ Lifts Closure for Station 15 in Ocean Springs No Advisories in Effect
The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted a beach closure Wednesday for Station 15 (Shearwater Beach in Ocean Springs). All stations across the Mississippi Gulf Coast are open.
MDEQ Announces Restoration Projects
The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) announced a list of 19 new restoration projects during the Mississippi Restoration Summit in Biloxi on Tuesday. When implemented, these projects will add more than $83 million to the total already being spent on restoration projects in the wake of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
