MDEQ To Conduct Survey on Little Tallahatchie River

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) will be installing electronic monitoring equipment this week to help conduct a water sampling survey on the Little Tallahatchie River in Union County.

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted two advisories Wednesday for stations 7A and 10 in Harrison County. There are currently no stations under an advisory across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The Governor’s Delta Sustainable Water Resources Task Force will hold two meetings in September to inform producers in the Mississippi Delta of ongoing and future activities to help address declining water levels in the Mississippi River Valley Alluvial Aquifer. Lunch will be served at both meetings.

Gov. Phil Bryant announced today that the U.S. Department of the Treasury has issued grant awards for two Mississippi RESTORE projects. In June 2017, Gov. Bryant announced the approval of grant awards for six other projects.
