Delta Voluntary Metering Program

As part of ongoing efforts to effectively manage the use of the Mississippi River Valley Alluvial Aquifer (MRVA), the MDEQ Office of Land and Water Resources has adopted specifications for flow meter installation and a list of approved flow meters for agricultural uses.

MDEQ encourages producers to install flow meters and participate in the Voluntary Metering Program for MRVA agricultural wells.

Please direct any questions you may have about the use of flow meters for managing the MRVA or about the Voluntary Metering Program to:

Reporting annual meter readings for the Voluntary Metering Program

MDEQ mails out reporting forms in October each year to all voluntary metering program participants that have indicated that their meters are installed. The mail out includes a physical reporting form that can be completed and mailed or faxed back to MDEQ. Also included is a User Name and Password for those that prefer to submit readings online using the Groundwater Usage Survey Tool (GUST).

For those preferring to report online, login to GUST with the User Name and Password that you received in the mail: https://landandwater.deq.ms.gov/WaterUse/GUST

If you did not receive your forms in the mail or need assistance, please contact Mary McKay.
