The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted the beach water contact advisories for Pass Christian Central and Gulfport Harbor Beaches.
Water samples at this station show the area has reached acceptable bacteria levels. There are still four beach water contact advisories in effect for the Mississippi Gulf Coast currently.
Again, ADVISORIES have been: LIFTED for:
· Pass Christian Central Beach — the previously affected area is from Henderson Ave. east to Hiern Ave. (Station 6)
· Gulfport Harbor Beach — the previously affected area is from 20th Ave. east to Thornton Ave. (Station 9)
Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming should not occur during or within 24 hours of significant rainfall.
