MDEQ Lifts Two Water Contact Advisories  No Advisories in Effect Across the Coast

(JACKSON, Miss.) — The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted two water contact advisories in Harrison County on Wednesday. There are currently no stations across the Mississippi Gulf Coast under an advisory.

Advisories have been lifted for these stations:

►Station 5 – Pass Christian West Beach – from Fort Henry to Elliott Avenue.
►Station 9 – Gulfport Harbor Beach – from 20th Avenue to Thornton Avenue.Water samples at these stations show the areas have attained acceptable bacteria levels. The Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, which performs water sampling of the Mississippi Gulf Coast beaches for MDEQ, notifies the agency when an area returns to acceptable levels and safe conditions.
