MDEQ Lifts Three Water Contact AdvisoriesThree Advisories in Effect

(JACKSON, Miss.) — The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted three water contact advisories for beach monitoring stations 1, 6, and 13A on Friday. Water samples at these stations show the areas have attained acceptable bacteria levels. There are currently three other stations under an advisory.

The advisories have been lifted for:

►Station 1– Lakeshore Beach– from Silver Slipper Casino eastward to Poinset.

►Station 6 – Pass Christian Central Beach – from Henderson Ave to Heirn Ave.

►Station 13A – Biloxi East – from Dukate eastward to Kuhn St.

Advisories are still in effect for:

►Station 7 — Pass Christian East – from Espy Ave. eastward to Hayden Ave.

►Station 8 – Gulfport West – from Marie Ave. eastward to Camp Ave.

►Station 15 – Shearwater Beach – from Weeks Bayou eastward to Ashley.
