The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted beach water contact advisories for Pass Christian Central Beach, Gulfport Central Beach, and Gulfport East Beach. Water samples at these stations show the areas have reached acceptable bacteria levels. Again, the ADVISORIES have been LIFTED for:
Advisories remain in effect for the following beaches: Pass Christian West Beach (Station 5), Pass Christian East (Station 7), Long Beach (Station 7A), Gulfport West Beach (Station 8), and Gulfport Harbor Beach (Station 9). Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming should not occur during or within 24 hours of significant rainfall.
