The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted beach water contact advisories for Pass Christian Central Beach, Long Beach Beach, and Gulfport Harbor Beach.

Water samples at the stations show that the areas have reached acceptable bacteria levels.

Again, the ADVISORIES have been LIFTED for:

  • Pass Christian Central Beach — the affected area was from Henderson Ave. to Heirn Ave. (Station 6)
  • Long Beach Beach– the affected area was from Oak Gardens to Girard (Station 7A)
  • Gulfport Harbor Beach — the affected area was from 20th to Thornton Ave. (Station 9)

There are currently NO beach water contact advisories in effect.

Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming should not occur during or within 24 hours of significant rainfall.
