Jackson, MS – The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted the beach water contact advisory for Pascagoula Beach-West. Water samples show the area has reached acceptable bacteria levels.

The advisory has been lifted for:

  • Pascagoula Beach West — the previously affected area is from Oliver St. east to Westwood St. (Station 19)

Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming not occur during or within 24 hours of a significant rainfall.
