The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted a beach water contact advisory for Gulfport Harbor Beach.

Water samples at this station show the area has reached acceptable bacteria levels. A beach water contact advisory currently remains in effect for Bay St. Louis Beach.

Again, the ADVISORY has been LIFTED for:

  • Gulfport Harbor Beach — the previously associated beach extends from 20th to Thornton Ave. (Station 9)

A previously issued advisory is still in place for:

  • Bay St. Louis Beach — the extent is from Box Culvert eastward to Ballantine St.. (Station 4)

Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming should not occur during or within 24 hours of significant rainfall.
