The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, through its Beach Monitoring Program, has issued beach water contact advisories for the following beaches: Pass Christian Central Beach, Pass Christian East Beach, Gulfport West Beach, Gulfport Harbor Beach and Gulfport Central Beach.
These beaches are not closed; however, there may be an increased risk of illness associated with swimming in these areas. When water samples show that bacteria levels are safe for contact, the advisories will be lifted.
ADVISORIES have been ISSUED for:
- Pass Christian Central Beach — the previously affected area is from Henderson Ave. east to Hiern Ave. (Station 6)
- Pass Christian East Beach — the affected area is from Espy Ave. east to Hayden Ave. (Station 7)
- Gulfport West Beach — the affected area is from Marie Ave. east to Camp Ave. (Station 8)
- Gulfport Harbor Beach — the affected area is from 20th Ave. east to Thornton Ave. (Station 9)
- Gulfport Central Beach — the affected area is from Alfonso Dr. east to Arkansas Ave. (Station 10)
An ADVISORY has been lifted for:
- Biloxi East Central Beach — the previously affected area is from St. Peter St. east to Dukate Street. (Station 12B)
Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming should not occur during or within 24 hours of significant rainfall. Advisories remain in effect for Pass Christian West Beach and Long Beach.

Notice: MDEQ will continue issuing beach advisory text alerts and press releases through Labor Day, September 7, 2026. Beginning September 8, 2026, routine advisories outside the peak beach season will be communicated through posted beach signage and the Beach Monitoring website. Advisory information is posted first on beaches.mdeq.ms.gov, making it the fastest place to find updated beach conditions.
