The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted the beach water contact advisories for Gulfport West Beach and Biloxi East Central Beach.

Water samples at these stations show the areas have reached acceptable bacteria levels.

Again, the ADVISORIES have been LIFTED for:

  • Gulfport West Beach — the previously affected area is from Marie Ave. east to Camp Ave. (Station 8)
  • Biloxi East Central Beach — the previously affected area is from St. Peter St. east to Dukate St. (Station 12B)

There are four beach water contact advisories in effect on the Mississippi Gulf Coast currently:

  • Long Beach — from Oak Gardens east to Girard Ave. (Station 7A)
  • Gulfport Harbor Beach — from 20th Ave east to Thornton Ave. (Station 9)
  • East Courthouse Road Beach — from Courthouse Rd. east to Tegarden (Station 10B)
  • Biloxi West Central Beach — from Travia St. east to Iberville Dr. (Station 12A)

Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming should not occur during or within 24 hours of significant rainfall.

Additional notice: MDEQ will continue issuing beach advisory text alerts and press releases through Labor Day, September 7, 2026. Beginning September 8, 2026, routine advisories will be communicated through posted beach signage and the Beach Monitoring website. Advisory information is posted first on beaches.mdeq.ms.gov, making it the fastest place to find updated beach conditions.
