Pharmaceutical Rule
On February 22, 2019, the EPA adopted new regulations for management of pharmaceutical hazardous waste and to ament the P075 listing for nicotine. Effective federally, the State of Mississippi has to adopt the rule for the regulation to be applicable in Mississippi. Rule 1.8 of MHWMR (or Part 266 of 40 C.F.R) is for the management of special wastes. This rule allows for the option to manage pharmaceuticals under the provisions of Part 266 rather than the MHWMR under rules 1.1 – 1.4.
