REGISTRATION FOR ONLINE PUBLIC HEARING


ON PROPOSED PERMIT RENEWAL FOR CHEVRON U.S.A. INC., PASCAGOULA REFINERY
Zoom meeting hosted by MDEQ Waste Division

An online public hearing will be hosted on Zoom by MDEQ to solicit public comments on the proposed reissuance of MDEQ Hazardous Waste Manage Permit No. HW054179403 and the EPA Permit No. MSD054179403 for the Chevron Refinery in Jackson County, Mississippi.

Chevron has submitted an application to MDEQ for the continue post-closure care activities of their North Landfarm. Application has also been submitted to EPA for the facility to continue the investigations begun under the previously issued Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments (HSWA) Permit.

Hearing Date: March 30, 2021 at 6:00 pm

Registrants must enter their name, email, and indicate if they anticipate speaking during the hearing. Registration should be completed at least 2 hours prior to the start time of the public hearing. Upon registration, an email will be sent to the registrant with a link to the Zoom meeting as well as additional instructions on participating. Interested persons should be able to participate through a web browser or through the Zoom app. Only persons that are registered will have the opportunity to make verbal comments during the hearing. Persons that plan to participate using a phone line for audio must register the phone number they intend to use during the meeting so that they may be identified and unmuted at the appropriate time to offer comments.

In addition, any interested person may submit comments in writing or by email at any time during the 45-day public comment process. Comments regarding the EPA permit should be addressed to Amy McLaughlin by email (mclaughlin.amy@epa.gov) or by mail to US EPA – Region 4, Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center, 61 Forsyth Street, SW, Atlanta, GA 30303. Comments should be made no later than April 12, 2021.
