Freedom Of Information Act

Mississippi Code § 25-61-1 “Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983” states that it is the policy of the Legislature of Mississippi that public records must be available for inspection by any person unless otherwise provided. MDEQ has and will do everything reasonable to fulfill this policy.

About Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Inquiries

For access to public records maintained by MDEQ, a formal request must be made in writing containing the following information:

  • Name of facility
  • City and county where facility is located
  • Specifics on the type of information requested
